ALL TIME FAVORITES
Greetings in Christ, Our Life:
I’m one of the many saints who corresponded regularly with Norman and had him in our home several times so that groups of hungry people could sit at his feet.
I’m wondering if you have considered reprinting God Unlimited–one of my all-time favorites, or The Spontaneous You. The important thing is to keep all of his books in print and available.
Although my husband is retired, and I have only a part-time job, I will contribute as I can to this great cause.
Thanks!!!
Sincerely, in love,
Jerri Liebert
Dear Jerri,
Thank you so much for your nice letter regarding Norman and his books. We agree with you when you say how important it is to keep his books in print and available so that his message can keep reaching out to people.
I too was one of those in New England who had him to our home for small group meetings. He loved those living room times and was happy with whatever people could grasp of the Galatians 2:20 truth. He was prompt in responding, wasn’t he? He had many 4 AM or so early morning wake-ups when he’d be at the type-writer.
Jerri, we thank you and your husband again for your generous contribution and will use it in helping to reprint Norman’s writings. We are now working on Yes I Am and hope it will be available before the year is over. We plan then to do. God Unlimited, and then others as time goes on. I’m eager to see Once Caught, No Escape into circulation again as well.
Sincerely,
Betty
BELIEVE
Dear Editors:
Thanks for reprinting "The Story of the Ten." It is good to review the steps of faith that Norman taught so effectively. It was reading Norman’s book, The Spontaneous You in 1973-74 that changed my life. There I saw it was Him, not me as the life and ministry. It was exciting to see Him work as I learned to reckon myself dead and He alive in me and as me. But the greater truths that I picked up on one encounter with Grubb when he came to Jackson in the 70’s was the faith truths which he hits on in the article you reprinted… "We have already received from him in the unseen and not be diverted into looking around for the way in which he may send it in the seen." Grubb shared a thought with me as I took him to the airport on John 7:38-39 "he that believeth on me out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. But this spake He of the Spirit whom they that believe on Him should receive" He said to me the emphasis is on believe–as we believe on him for whatever, it activates the flow of the Spirit through our lives. So He taught much and it is so good that you keep reprinted all that He said so we can renew our minds with the life changing truths.
God Bless You and keep up the good work,
Dr. Ray Henry
A REMINDER
Dear Magazine Staff,
Thank you for the Winter 1999 issue. I have just read the first article, "The Purpose of the Negative." I badly needed the reminder to look through eternal eyes, the eyes of Christ-John. I frequently forget and live the be of independence. Norman’s words are life whenever I read them.
Sincerely,
John Littman
NO INDEPENDENT YOU
Dear Ruth,
I have read your letter and I am not clear as to what your sin has been. Your lying and pretending about your not eating seems to me to be your problem. I would say for you to eat what you want to eat however you want to eat it–just don’t lie, don’t hide, and don’t sneak. If you free yourself to eat spontaneously you won’t be so possessed and obsessed about food.
You trying to control your eating is just that, YOU, trying to eat a certain way. There are two lies here: #1 . There is no independent you that can do anything. And as soon as you believe this lie you give Satan the freedom to boss you. Remember!!! ALL independent stuff is Satan stuff!!! #2. Even if you could independently operate yourself, why on earth do you think you can do anything–eat or whatever–good. The Bible makes it clear that the best you or any other human being can ever do is like a filthy rag in God’s sight.
In Him,

FAITH IS SUBSTANCE
Dear Sanda,
Please forgive me for the long, long delay in answering your letter. I should have dropped you a note immediately; sorry I didn’t, because it was a real blessing to me. I read it over and over each time getting more out of it. You said "I would encourage you to see that Christ does in fact live His life out through you." I thought to myself, Could it indeed be that easy? So let me tell you how Christ proved to me that it surely could be done.
My eighty-year-old husband had cancer in his right lung from Oct. ’98 to Feb. ’99. He was bedridden. We kept him at home–I know that Christ was living through me because energy, patience, and cheer seemed to be endless. I could see the difference when Satan would sneak in so I had to re-new my mind quickly. People remarked how well I was holding up. I just had to tell them it was not I, but Christ. My husband died on Feb. 12, 1999-beautiful departing. He wanted to go home so bad, talked about it all the time so it was a real blessing to see how easily he slipped into heaven.
Your booklet, "From Despair to Delight" was a mainstay for me. I read and reread it at night so many times. I never knew I could feel so close to some one that I never met. I’m beginning to see that we are indeed one body–how wonderful!
Enclosed is a small token of my appreciation for all that you all mean to me.
Love you in Christ,
Elizabeth McKay
Dear Mrs. McKay,
Thank you for your sweet letter and your contribution to The Intercessor. I was so sorry to hear of your husband’s death, but, at the same time, glad for you that his leaving was gentle and that he was ready to go. In spite of your pain and loss, it surely must be a comfort to you that he is with his Lord, and that your parting is only temporary. What a blessing to have the certainty of our eternal home with Jesus!
I am thrilled that you experienced Christ living out His life in you and as you in such an extremely difficult place. And what He did through you in a crisis is what He does everyday–He just is joined to you, one spirit, and that He is accomplishing exactly what He wants to. That is faith. You now know and can affirm, no matter what the external circumstances, that "I have been crucified with, Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ lives in me; and the life I live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." Glorious!
I am sending along a few little pamphlets that I thought you might like and which may bring further clarity to you on your true identity. Please stay in touch and let me know if there is anything that we can do for you.
Much love in Him,
Sandy
