Irish Spring Conference
Our weekend in Dublin was wonderful. We saw how God rewards obedience and is faithful to fulfil His promises, the very fruit being Joanna Langley restored to us through the intercession of her mother.
This testimony to God’s promise is a powerful encouragement to others to acknowledge sin and turn back to God so that He may replace the heart of stone with a new heart. "I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh" (Ezek. 11:19).
In Dublin we got to watch more closely His plan unfolding. God puts problems before us and the solution is like a gift wrapped up for us. Do we dare accept, open and apply His solution? Do we move on into the new opportunity available to us? How many of us refuse to use all the information God gives us? We kick and scream against God, not with His promises in our heart, but with lies, deceit and twisted thinking ruling us. Sin blocks God’s light and hardens the heart.
During our time together we worked to free others bound by Satan’s lies so that they become open to God’s word and, in turn, begin to live fruitful, God-focused lives instead of self-centered, self fulfilling lives. We believe that they even now are more free as they are willing to go God’s way. Repeatedly we witnessed how wonderful and exciting life can be when we are sensitive to the fact that it is God planning and working out every detail!
There were numerous reminders of His perfect timing, His perfect plan-finding a pizza place late on Saturday night; watching "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" (and it’s amazing parallels); running into dead ends trying to find a place for Sunday lunch and then discovering The Golflinks Pub on the seaport and a great lunch! All our driving had brought us around full circle and we were a mere ten minutes from the airport and precisely on time for UK departures.
God asks no more of us than that we trust Him, be spontaneous and know He lives and works through us for His good purposes.
"And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose" (Rom. 8:28).
