The Intercessor, Vol 11 No 2

Moments with Meryl
by Meryl Langley

When it was suggested that I play the piano for the singing at our next conference, I came up with many legitimate excuses. However, there was no one else, and since Christina had already pointed out my unbelief, I chose to agree Christ/Meryl could play the piano "a bit". Previously, I would have thought the piano accompaniment should be played perfectly: every now and chord as written, correct tempo, and certainly with no mistakes!! Well, all I could do now was choose to believe Christ as me would walk (or play!) out in this situation.

With this choice uppermost in my mind, I took my place at the piano at each session. When there was no music available we sang unaccompanied, but even when there was music, what was printed sometimes did not correspond with the tune that was familiar to us. "Don’t panic, Meryl, Christ is in control here" Guess what? I actually found my fingers playing the same notes that were being sung! Can you believe it? I wanted to burst in, interrupt the singing and announce what had happened. Right believing had liberated me from the letter of the law into the life of the Spirit.

Statement of Faith

The purpose of Zerubbabel Press is to further the great high calling of the Lord Jesus to carry His Gospel to the whole world. This calling is known in the Christian world as the Great Commission. Our interpretation of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ was the second member of the Trinity, fully God, made manifest in the flesh. He was tempted in all points as we are, but totally without sin. He was crucified for the sins of the world, was buried, and rose from the dead on the third day, according to the Scriptures. He gives the power to become the sons of God to all who receive Him.
