Faith Creates A Reality by Page Prewitt

Have you ever tried to scramble an egg by shaking it in the shell? An egg has both a yolk and a white and no matter how hard you shake it, you cannot get the two things to mix together. Yet you still have one complete egg. This is just one illustration Page Prewitt uses in the tape Faith Creates a Reality to describe our union with Christ. Page’s ability to verbally paint pictures allows the listener to grasp the vital truths of the Scriptures.

Page begins her teaching using the egg illustration to show how our spiritual union works. Prior to becoming born-again through faith in Jesus Christ, we were in a spirit hook-up with Satan. But we were not like a scrambled egg-totally enmeshed with Satan. Because we are always human spirits joined to either Christ or Satan, we are never "mixed." So we can be set free from our Satan hook-up to be joined to Christ in a spirit union. That is how we are able to receive or reject God’s gift of salvation for us. The same is true of our union with Christ. If we were totally fused with Christ, then we would not sin. But as most of us know very well, that is not our experience.

It was certainly not Page’s. Her inability to live up to God’s standards started her on a journey to discover the truth that changed her life. She had spent most of her Christian life hating herself. Desperate for an answer, she began to catch the truth of "Christ in us as us" that Norman Grubb shared. She dared to believe that it was Jesus Christ Himself that was living out every moment of her life. As she confessed this to herself and occasionally others, she eventually began to accept herself because by faith she trusted that Christ was living His right life through her. It no longer mattered whether others approved of her or even if she was pleased with herself.

Page did not realize at the time that she was eliminating unbelief in her life and Satan’s opportunity to trick her into sin. In those early years, she did not know what she knows now–that there really is not a time when an alone "I" is living life (really Satan masquerading as us). Her believing it was Christ living her life is what made it Christ living her life! As she says, "Believing into God brings about God-reality. To make Satan a reality in our lives, we don’t have to believe into Satan. We are tricked because believing in ourselves (just me) is what brings about Satan-reality." Believing wrong about ourselves is what’s wrong. Then anything we do is Satan doing his deeds by us.

Page then explains the difference between soul and spirit: soul is my thoughts and feelings. My spirit–the real me–is the union of my human spirit with the spirit of Jesus Christ, who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Satan focuses all my attention on what I think and feel, trying to convince me that my soul-thoughts and feelings-is who I really am. I defeat Satan and become more than a conqueror when I confess the fact that Christ is living His life through me, despite how I feel.

Page’s personal and down-to-earth illustrations in Faith Creates a Reality held my interest and made abstract spiritual truths much easier for me to grasp. Even the title of the tape intrigued me-I began to get the picture of two distinct realities, and that what I believe determines which one becomes mine.

If you want to be satisfied with yourself and know you are living a right life, this tape has answers for you from someone who has personally experienced the agony of a life of desperation and then found the key to the abundant Life.
