Moses, by Norman Grubb

Norman’s commentary touches to the depth of God’s purposes in Moses’ life, lessons in walking “by faith, not by sight” and God’s revelation of Himself to the people He had called to be His own. Confronted by God at the burning bush, Moses moves from the school of faith to the life of faith “a focused consciousness that he is living out the God relationship that is within.” Norman also explains the often misunderstood principle behind “God hardened Pharoah’s heart.” God intends each person to make their free choice and then uses man’s choice to glorify Himself. The significance of Moses in God’s overall plan to redeem the human race is clear: “The true center of the purposes of God through Moses [was] to fit the people to be a nation in the land of Canaan-God’s nation preserved in the promised land in preparation for the True Head of the true nation to appear.”
