Musings on the British Conference
At Castleton we had many opportunities to appreciate the impact of fellowhsip on the Christian walk. We saw again and again how important it is, having learned the total truth, to be undeviating in our commitment to walking in the fullness of the light we have been given. once we are born-again, Satan cannot ever take over our spirit centre, but he continues to assail us from without. The Price of Darkness is always ready to hook into any unbelief we indulge in. He knows our weak spots because he helped create them when he was our operator. But the bottom-line is that believing rightly about ourselves and others keeps us walking on God’s light.
Sobering though this awareness of Satan’s attack is, during the weekend it led to a greater realisation of how fellowship works in living out the total truth. We should openly and fully seek the input of those with whom we fellowship and be grateful as we take on board the wisdom that God reveals through a body of Christ/I people–whatever the cost.
Fellowship is God’s vehicle for encouraging, exhorting, and admonishing us (Heb. 10:25). Tragically, there are those who reject God’s exhortation and admonishment by opting out of the discipline and accountability of fellowship. The condequences for those who reject the light God has revealed are severe. But on the positive side, those who remain in fellowship are supported as they bottom-line sin as sin. Satan’s hook loses its grip when sin is owned, confessed, and in our brokenness, repented of. Then in fellowship we all rejoice in the continuous supply of God’s forgiveness. Yes, there are still condequences for unbelief, but the good news is that "in all things God works for the good of those who love Him" (Romans 8:28).
Satan has lost any inroad he had made. Christs is victorious!
