Mini Fellowship Weekend
Friday 12th February found us traveling up the M1 Motorway to meet up with several other folk from different parts of England and Scotland. We were looking forward to one of our now regular get-togethers, which was being held in Cheshire at the homes of Ellen Childs and Dorothy Holden.
We enjoyed being with each other again and the time was spent very informally discussing whatever came up as we chatted and shared our lives with one another.
By Saturday evening it was felt that some of the discussion had been quite heavy so we decided between us that it was time to lighten up so we spent the evening playing charades. This was great fun and quite hilarious at times.
The food was plentiful as usual and Ellen had rearranged her dining room with extra tables from the garden and elsewhere and it looked like a charming English teashop. I christened it Nan’s Pantry.
Sunday afternoon arrived far too quickly as it was then time to say our goodbyes and make our way home but the sadness was lessened knowing that we would be seeing each other again at our annual Easter Conference in just eight weeks time.
For Alan and me the weekend was a little lengthier as we moved on to stay with Harry and Jean in Bolton who met with us for the first time at the weekend conference in Derbyshire last September. This was an opportunity to continue in fellowship and get to know each other better.
These weekends are open to all so just drop us a line or telephone if you would like to be included.
