Indwelt By The Spirit Of God
(This is from some correspondence from Judy Frakes in California)
The opening of our minds to His thoughts is clearly a work of the Holy Spirit. For as long as we can remember the thoughts, words, actions have been labored. Shoulds, oughts, must, resulted in “do.” The revelation of His life has brought the realization that He alone is the “do-er” in and by me. The “independent I” was an illusion that I bought completely-and therefore acted out that illusion… “no longer I who lives, but Christ lives in me”…(Gal. 2:20) is the reality of Truth. His Truth! So now, the freedom and liberty of just “being” brings calmness, peace, joy and when the desire, real desire “to do” something comes, then I proceed, knowing it is He in me, desiring to do this or that-go here or there and it’s all spontaneous, free, no law, no expectations.
I am a person indwelt by the Spirit of God-and as such.. “am as He is in this world…” (1 Jn. 4:17). The spirit of error has been replaced by the Spirit of Truth. Christ bought me back with His blood and no one nor thing can change my Spirit. I am a “new creation-old things have passed away, behold all things are new”. (2 Corin. 5:17). Therefore, I am who He says I am-His precious temple (1 Corin. 3:17 and 2 Corin. 6:16), vessel (Rom. 9:23), child and only HIS! To focus on Him brings us out of darkness of thinking into His marvelous light. That spirit of error will try to dissuade us from believing that we are complete, whole, one in Him-that for now is his right-but we also have the option, or right, to choose not to believe that lie! Those moments when I grasp and run with a thought of jealousy, envy, despair, loneliness, or whatever at the moment pulls at me, ultimately bring me back to the reality of “No, I’m not a jealous or envious or lonely person–I am only experiencing the feelings or emotions of that and can choose whether to believe that lie or not.”
The Father loves us more than human words or understanding can speak or comprehend. To know Him is to love Him, to love Him is to rest. For He has done all the work. We are to rest from our own “independent” labors. Then we will truly become active as Him. He has set His plan into motion and no one can deter His way. He changes our perception of that way by revealing His Truth to us as we rest and trust Him. The more we feel we must “do” something, the more quickly the lie builds and grows. He does not need us to tell Him what’s going on in this world or our lives. He is very aware; in fact, He sets up the situations and circumstances for us to see and recognize Christ. Again, the choice is ours. He ultimately is the ONLY POWER… (Ps. 62:11). He alone is GOD there is none other: (Is. 45:5).
So what are we to “do”? Praise Him and thank Him for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. (1 Thess. 5:18).
