Youth "Business"
What did "business meeting" mean to the children who came with their parents to the Zerubbabel Annual Business Meeting? To the thirty-three children who came to weekend of March 22-24, it meant learning more about the "business" of living right, no matter what.
Friday night the young people got to know each other by playing two new games that focused on learning to be more aware and concerned about other people. Among our newcomers were Danielle, Kim, and Matthew, who attended this as their second conference, and Chris, with us for the first time.
On Saturday the youth divided into two groups. The younger children learned about the Word of Godthat it is trustworthy, right, enduring and preciousfrom studying Psalm 19:7-10.
Meanwhile the older youth studied in Romans and discussed problems they face today. They looked to the Bible for examples and answers that helped them learn to make right choices, no matter what other people are doing. On Saturday afternoon the youth went to the mall on a "non-shopping spree." In pairs they visited every store and wrote down one thing they would not buy. The lesson? Although we long to say "no" to wrong or sin things that dont appeal to us, its a lot harder to do about things that do appeal to us. The evening was capped by enjoying the video "Apollo 13."
On Sunday the younger children studied Bible verses as they put together puzzles about Jesus’ life. The older youth split into two groups, guys and girls, to discuss difficult issues that each group faces today.
Everyone enjoyed the weekend of fun and fellowship. We are looking for-ward to even more fun at Zembbabel Family Camp this summer!
