"I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly" (John 10:10).

The difference between the Savior and everyone who came before him was that he came to give life, but it was a life that could only come through death, his own death on Calvary. He was fulfilling a law which operates in spiritual things as well as in nature. ‘Except a corn o wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it.bringeth forth much fruit’ (John 12:24). That is the way that the Holy Spirit has gained his intercessions in me, and it is on this principle he has worked. He showed me that he would put me on the Cross but that there would be resurrection on the hundredfold. It is just to the extent that you allow him to put you to death that his resurrection life will be manifest in you: ‘For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection’ (Romans 6:5). This is the life which always has the victory over the enemy.
