Editor’s Note
This issue of The Intercessor will reach you as we head into what is commonly referred to as the "Holiday Season." We might pause a moment and view this time from God’s perspective. He is doubtless grieved over the to-do made of home-baked treats, overindulgent spending, and frantic activity, all rationalized by "It’s Thanksgiving!" or "It’s Christmas!" The truth is we are no more Christ as us on Christmas day than we are this moment, and we need to be grateful every day-or hour-that God has made His truth known to us and that we are free to believe it. God’s gift to mankind is that He created us to live in, and that He provided a means of escape from the bondage of Satan-Himself in the form of Jesus Christ. To substitute anything for this glorious fact–even family, children, church-is extremely dangerous. God holds us accountable for the degree of light we have, and what is more total to know than God Himself indwelling and living His life as us to reach the world? Jesus and the disciples knew nothing of gathering around the hearth with cookies and hot chocolate–they burned themselves out to spread the truth and ultimately sacrificed their very lives. If those around us do not know the total truth of who they are, our heart cry must be that they will know, and we will go to any lengths to see Christ formed in them. That is the meaning of Christmas.
